Thanks for being brave enough to try meditating, especially if you’re brand new to it.

If you’re totally new to meditating, here’s a quick step-by-step:

  1. Set aside 10 minutes.

  2. Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

  3. Lay on your back in a comfortable place. You can use a yoga mat, a couch, or a bed. Note that being in your bed might make it more likely that you’ll fall asleep. I find that laying on top of a made-up bed reduces this reaction.

  4. Hit play on the meditation file you downloaded above.

  5. Close your eyes and follow the instructions you’ll hear.
